Refurbishment Funding for a Holiday Let on the Orkney Islands
The client had purchased a property that had great potential to become a holiday let in a very popular part of Orkney, an area thriving with serviced accommodation.
Although the client owned the property outright, they needed £55,000 to fund the renovation costs.
The client struggled to find a lender who was able to cover the remote location and for the level of borrowing required.
On completion the property would generate a strong rental income.
Lowry Capital is happy to lend in remote parts of the UK, and we’re also happy to provide smaller loans (but still give the same level of personal service as our larger loans).
Here’s what the client has to say about her experience with Lowry Capital:
"Lowry Capital provided a bridging loan to cover building costs to renovate a 200 year old cottage by the sea on the Orkney islands, enabling building works to be completed so the cottage could be set up as a holiday let business. All interactions with Lowry Capital were most pleasant and professional and over time you really felt they were acting as a partner, not just as a supplier of finance.
Of course a solid process was followed but during this time our account manager, Lauren, became someone who could be consulted on all things property and who we could share our goals and dreams for the holiday letting business and for our future on Orkney. She took as much delight in our completion of the project to the point where it could be marketed as we did. We look forward to the day when we can start another project and work with Lowry Capital again.”
